Scrum Day Madison 2025 is pleased to welcome Eric Naiburg, Chief Operating Model at Scrum.org, as one of this year’s featured speakers. Eric will take the stage to share his insights on the Agile Product Operating Model—a practical and impactful way to organize Scrum Teams around products rather than projects or departmental silos.
Scrum thrives when teams are aligned on delivering value, not just outputs. In this talk, Eric will explain how adopting a product mindset can reshape how organizations structure teams, define priorities, and ultimately deliver value to customers. He’ll contrast the traditional project mindset—where success is tied to timelines and milestones—with a product mindset, where success is defined by outcomes and long-term value.
Drawing on agile principles and modern product management practices, Eric will explore how this operating model helps organizations align funding, clarify ownership, and create lasting impact.
Eric brings deep experience to this topic. As Chief Operating Model at Scrum.org, he leads marketing, communications, support, partner programs, and the Professional Scrum Trainer network. He is also the co-author of UML for Database Design and UML for Mere Mortals. Earlier in his career, Eric served as Program Director at IBM and Rational Software, where he worked under original Scrum team member John Scumniotales and alongside Jeff McKenna—pioneers in the Scrum movement. His background also includes key roles in product management and marketing at INetU (now Flexential), Ivar Jacobson Consulting, CAST Software, and Logic Works Inc.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn directly from one of the leaders helping shape how organizations bring agility to life at scale. Join us on October 16 to discover how the Agile Product Operating Model can help your teams focus, adapt, and deliver more value.
