We’re kicking off Scrum Day Madison 2026 with a morning keynote designed to get people out of their seats, talking, experimenting, and having fun.
Chris Diller and Dan Bliss will open the day with “Embracing the ‘New Meta’ of AI with an Agile Gamer Mindset.”
And this won’t be your typical sit-and-listen keynote.
“Our keynote is not a speech. It’s not a talk. It’s going to be interactive. We’re going to be out in the audience with everybody else.”
Chris and Dan are planning activities, conversations, handouts, and opportunities for attendees to participate. As they put it, think of it as a workshop for the whole conference.
AI Changed the Game. How Will We Play?
In gaming, a “new meta” happens when something changes the game enough that players have to rethink their strategies. Chris and Dan see AI in much the same way.
The rules are changing. Instead of fearing that change, they believe Agile practitioners can approach it with curiosity: experiment, learn the new rules, adapt—and have some fun along the way.
That mindset should sound familiar to Scrum practitioners.
As Dan explains, when we play games, we expect to iterate. Losing one round isn't the end of the world. We learn something and play again. But at work, organizations sometimes treat every initiative as if everything is riding on it.

Chris and Dan will explore what happens when we lower the cost of failure—and therefore lower the cost of experimentation, learning and growth.
