Christopher Downs

Christopher M. Downs is an accomplished executive and Information Systems leader with extensive experience providing strategic vision, innovation, and operational excellence across multiple industries, including healthcare, insurance, financial services, and manufacturing. He specializes in developing IT portfolios that enhance quality, maximize investment value, and drive business outcomes while improving employee productivity and engagement.

As the Vice President of Client Delivery at New Resources Consulting, a nationally recognized consulting firm, Downs oversees all aspects of Client Delivery from both strategic and tactical perspectives. As an executive team member, he manages key client relationships and leads strategic initiatives that assist organizations in optimizing their technological investments.

Before joining New Resources Consulting, Downs served as CIO and Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Innovation at Laser Spine Institute, Associate Vice President of the Enterprise Project Management Office at Wake Forest Baptist Memorial Hospital, and Vice President of Information Services at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA). His extensive leadership background also includes roles as Vice President, National Director of Consulting, Managing Principal, and Director of Information Systems.

Downs holds a Management Information Systems and Marketing degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Marquette University. A 2012 graduate of the CHIME CIO Bootcamp, he has been a guest lecturer at Marquette University and Wake Forest University and has presented at nationally recognized organizations, including the College of Healthcare Information Executives (CHIME), Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Project Management Institute (PMI), Pure Storage Accelerate National Conference, and the Life Insurers Council (LIC).

 

He currently serves as a board member for the Society of Information Management (SIM), where he has held leadership roles as Past President, President, and Vice President. His past board positions include serving on the University of South Florida’s Cybersecurity Program Advisory Committee and supporting organizations such as the Children’s Cancer Center, March of Dimes, and the Wisconsin Information Technology Leadership Association.

Chris resides in both Tulsa, Oklahoma and Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his wife Susan.  In his spare time he enjoys traveling, golf, spending time with his grandchildren, and smoking on his Traeger.
